Job description

3rd Shift 

10:30pm - 6:40am 

Sunday - Thursday

POSITION SUMMARY:

      Responsible for the loading & unloading of incoming and outgoing product to support the plant.  Assists in         the inventory control process as it relates to the safe and orderly movement of materials in the plant. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

·         Receive, verify, confirm and document all incoming shipments for accuracy

·         Plan, prepare, assemble & verify shipments for sub-contractors and customers

·         Unload incoming parts, place in appropriate designated area(s) & FIFO material

·         For aluminum material, FIFO & document Aluminum aging.  This may also include weekly inventories

·         Reload of empty containers pertinent to each supplier, sometimes to include RMA material (returns)

·         Move material to designated areas as required (Warehouse locations, OGI, hold, sort,etc.)

·         Communicate any shortages to Dock Coordinator, Team Lead, Supervisor & Material Analyst for authentication

·         Assist/conduct cycle counting (weigh counting & hand counts) and physical inventories

·         Responsible for the neat organization of Finished Goods, Purchased parts and WIP storage areas

·         Housekeeping - contribute to the effort to maintain a clean and safe work environment

·         Participate in activities to support environmental efforts

·         Participate in activities to support continuous improvement

·         Follow all Plant & Dock Safety protocols and directives put in place for your safety

·         Any other activities as required by the Dock Coordinator, Team leader, Supervisor or Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Be a contributing team member and assist to achieve the goals of the team

·         Effectively communicate with a positive attitude

·         Maintain a calm and composed demeanour under stressful situations 

·         Use weigh scale and hand scanner

·         Able to plan and organize effectively

·         Fork truck and crane license (will have to be certified – if not currently) -Pass written test and demonstrate safe operation of a powered industrial vehicle.

·         Comply with the Autokiniton values and policies

·         Need a working understanding of the Production Department to be able to work along with the drivers to understand their needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

·         Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of sitting, climbing, lifting, stooping, bending , standing and handling of materials

·         Ability to quickly adjust your lift for varying loads for different stack heights, circumstances, etc

·         The ability to see details at close range as well as see pedestrians at a distance.

·         Be flexible in work schedule due to production shipment requirements
