Job Purposeย 

In your role asย aย Can Delivery Driver you will be picking up and delivering varying sizes of containers to differentย customersย accounts.ย ย 

Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

ย 
Duties include but are not limited to:ย 

  • Performs pre and post trip inspections of truckย 

  • Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal lawsย 

  • Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each dayย 

  • Operate a Moffett (forklift truck) to load and unload containersย 

  • Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customerโ€™s location free of debrisย 

  • Professionally communicates with customers as neededย 

  • Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidentsย 

  • Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazardsย etcย 

  • Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacementย 

  • Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as requiredย 

  • Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatchย 

  • Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisorย 

  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicleย 

  • Maintains professional appearanceย 

The successful candidate profile includes:ย 

  • Must possess a valid Chauffer's Licenseย 

  • High school diploma or GED preferredย 

  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, including some Saturdaysย 

  • Ability to use a tablet to receive work ordersย 

  • Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screenย 

  • Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five yearsย 

  • Must have ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer serviceย 

  • Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smellย 

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 poundsย 

  • May be required to work in emergency situationsย
