Job description

Pioneer is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine physician to support our growing partnership with AdventHealth Redmond in Rome, Georgia. This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine, values patient-centered care, and is comfortable supporting hospital-based pulmonary consults and procedures as part of a collaborative regional care model.

The role is designed around a Monday–Friday clinic schedule, with the majority of clinical time focused on outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine. Hospital responsibilities are expected to include occasional pulmonary consult support and procedures, allowing the physician to maintain a meaningful connection with AdventHealth Redmond while building a strong clinic-based practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primarily outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care in a Monday–Friday clinic-based schedule.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions across clinic and hospital consult settings.
  • Perform pulmonary procedures as clinically appropriate and within scope of training and hospital privileges.
  • Interpret sleep studies and partner with sleep lab, clinical, and administrative teams to support timely, coordinated patient care.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives related to access, patient experience, documentation, compliance, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a team culture grounded in communication, professionalism, compassion, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree with board certification or board eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Sleep Medicine.
  • Experience managing outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine patients required.
  • Comfort providing hospital pulmonary consults and performing pulmonary procedures preferred.
  • Eligible for Georgia medical licensure and DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Experience interpreting sleep studies and supporting comprehensive sleep medicine care preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, documentation habits, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Interest in program growth, quality improvement, and building strong referral relationships within Rome, Floyd County, and the surrounding Northwest Georgia market.
