Summary:

Join us on the frontlines of translating behavioral science into action, and action into improved outcomes for both patients and the health organizations that serve them. We're looking for a creative thinker and versatile writer who can apply consumer science (how + why people make healthcare buying decisions) to create patient-facing content that motivates people to get the care they need - then use key learnings to shape our client-facing technology and its positioning in the market.
In this role, you'll use our proprietary psychographic segmentation model to develop clinical and marketing outreach on behalf of clients, finding creative ways to scale personalization - without sacrifice to quality or brand alignment - using AI. You'll also partner with Product stakeholders to turn content and campaign learnings into platform improvements, and with Marketing and Sales teammates to tell a differentiated story of healthcare consumerism to executive audiences.
Today, our clients see us as experts whose technology and collaboration enables them to get their patients to act. Tomorrow, Health Catalyst will lead the charge in our industry, using consumer science to make patients feel more seen and known in their healthcare than ever before, while enabling provider organizations to deliver richer experiences. You will play a pivotal role in delivering on this vision, making a direct impact on patient experience, the product roadmap, client retention and growth, and healthcare at large.

What you'll Own in this role:

  • Timely patient-facing content creation across channels (email, SMS, social, web, print) using psychographic models to tailor messaging to motivations across multiple healthcare use cases

  • Strategic copy for assets that position our products and intellectual property for client and executive audiences (thought leadership, one pagers, white papers)

  • Product intelligence that improves our self-service platform-translating real-world content challenges into platform enhancements that make client work more effective

  • AI exploration to responsibly augment psychographic personalization while maintaining health literacy standards and clinical accuracy

  • Performance and optimization, building a reporting cadence for content metrics (open rate, CTR, downstream outcomes) and partnering with data teams to translate insights into improvements in psychographic messaging and campaign execution

  • Day-to-day content operations and documentation, maintaining and evolving a library of best practice patient content to ensure it reflects current clinical guidelines, health literacy standards, and channel-specific engagement principles

  • Content quality assurance, partnering cross-functionally to approve the look and feel of client campaign journeys prior to launch

What You Bring to this role:

  • 5+ years creating patient or consumer content in healthcare, health tech, or related fields

  • Proven ability to translate research and data into communications that drive behavior change

  • Portfolio demonstrating multi-channel work with measurable engagement outcomes

  • Experience collaborating with product teams to shape tools and platforms

  • Fluency in AI-enabled content workflows, including prompt design, to scale production while maintaining quality

  • Deep understanding of health literacy and patient-centered communication

  • Genuine curiosity about human motivation, emerging technology, and the space between art and science

Why This Matters

Your work directly impacts whether patients seek necessary care. You're building the playbook for how healthcare applies behavioral science at scale, with the resources to explore cutting-edge AI applications and the autonomy to influence both content strategy and product direction.

Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you've established replicable content frameworks across major healthcare use cases, contributed measurable product improvements to our platform roadmap, and piloted AI workflows that improve both efficiency and personalization-with client adoption metrics and patient engagement data proving the model works.
