Estate Planning Attorney - Remote in South Florida

Remote based in South Florida | Travel required in tri county area (Palm Beach, Miami Dade, Broward counties) | $45-$150 per hour

Mayersohn Law Group, P.A. is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to support complex estate planning and probate matters. This remote role requires occasional travel within the common practice areas (Broward, Palm Beach, & Miami-Dade counties) and is perfect for a Florida‑licensed attorney with strong drafting skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to independently manage sophisticated files, including matters involving high‑net‑worth clients and estates.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, responsive, and comfortable working autonomously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client care. The successful Estate Planning Attorney holds a JD from an accredited law school, is an active member of the Florida Bar, has an LL.M in Taxation or Estate Planning, and has at least three years of experience in estate planning.

They must demonstrate proficiency in drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, special needs trusts, dynasty trusts, related estate planning instruments, conducting legal research and advising clients on asset protection, tax implications, and occasional Medicaid planning. Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive client matters with empathy and discretion are essential. The strongest candidates will show sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, financial advisors, CPAs, and internal staff while meeting firm performance expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Draft core planning documents: Prepare wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, dynasty trusts, special needs trusts, pour‑over wills, powers of attorney, health care surrogate designations, living wills, and other advanced directives.
  • Design and implement planning strategies: Structure estate plans for high‑net‑worth clients, including tax‑efficient transfers, asset protection strategies, and business succession planning.
  • Advise on tax and asset protection issues: Counsel clients on federal estate and gift tax considerations, Florida homestead issues, creditor protection, and titling of assets.
  • Coordinate with allied professionals: Collaborate with financial advisors, family offices, CPAs, insurance professionals, and internal staff to ensure cohesive, well‑executed planning.
  • Review and update existing plans: Analyze prior estate plans, identify gaps or risks, and recommend updates aligned with client goals and current law.
  • Client counseling and education: Explain complex concepts in clear, practical terms and guide clients through emotionally sensitive planning decisions.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing
