Job Overview:
The Family Law Resolution Project is a statewide Access to Justice initiative designed to improve the way Montana families navigate family law disputes by expanding access to mediation, legal guidance, child support consultation, and other family law resolution services.
The Family Law Resolution Project Administrator performs advanced professional work administering and coordinating statewide family law resolution programs for the Montana Judicial Branch. The position is responsible for program management, implementation, contractor oversight, program evaluation, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement of family law resolution services.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Access to Justice Program Coordinator. The employee exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in administering statewide programs, coordinating contracted service providers, developing program recommendations, evaluating outcomes, and ensuring consistent implementation of program goals throughout the Judicial Branch.
Job Duties:
Administers statewide family law resolution programs, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of program initiatives.
Coordinates and oversees contracted mediators, legal advisors, child support consultants, and other contracted professionals to ensure consistent delivery of services and compliance with program expectations.
Provides direction to contracted service providers and makes recommendations regarding contractor performance and continued participation in the program.
Develops, implements, and maintains statewide policies, procedures, reporting measures, and operational practices supporting family law resolution services.
Collects, analyzes, and reports program data and performance measures to evaluate outcomes and identify opportunities for program improvement.
Develops reports, recommendations, and supporting documentation for leadership, funding partners, and other stakeholders.
Builds collaborative relationships with judges, court staff, the Montana Legal Services Association, attorneys, mediators, community organizations, and other justice partners.
Coordinates training, outreach, education, and communication activities supporting statewide implementation of family law resolution services.
Assists with strategic planning, grant implementation, and other initiatives supporting Access to Justice programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Knowledge of mediation, alternative dispute resolution, conflict resolution, or family law processes is preferred.
Knowledge of court operations, legal services, or access to justice initiatives is preferred.
Ability to administer multiple statewide initiatives while balancing competing priorities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, court personnel, attorneys, contractors, community organizations, and the public.
Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present program data and recommendations.
Ability to develop policies, procedures, reports, and other written materials.
Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and public settings, including facilitating meetings, training, and presentations.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, diplomacy, and independent decision-making.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other technology used to support statewide program administration.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, legal studies, conflict resolution, social sciences, or a closely related field.
Considerable professional experience administering, coordinating, or managing programs, projects, contracts, or statewide initiatives.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred qualifications include experience in mediation, facilitation, conflict resolution, or alternative dispute resolution; experience working within the judicial system, legal services, or court administration; experience overseeing contracts or coordinating contractor performance; and experience administering grant-funded or statewide programs.
Graduation from an accredited law school is desirable but not required.
Employment is dependent on successfully passing a criminal background check.
