Who We're Looking For

Are you the kind of leader who can confidently run a shift, solve problems in real time, and inspire your team to do things the right way even when no one is watching?

We're looking for a Second Shift Quality Assurance Lead who doesn't just inspect products they lead people, protect our standards, and drive a culture where quality comes first. You'll be the go-to quality leader during second shift, partnering with Production to ensure every product leaving our facility meets customer expectations and Merit Manufacturing's high standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend your shift on the production floor coaching Quality Inspectors, making critical quality decisions, resolving issues before they become problems, and ensuring our operation remains compliant, efficient, and audit-ready.

Your Main Responsibilities Lead the Second Shift Quality Team

Coach, mentor, and support Quality Assurance Inspectors while setting the standard for quality, accountability, and teamwork.

Own the Production Floor

Oversee in-process inspections throughout filling and packaging operations, ensuring products meet customer specifications, GMP requirements, and internal quality standards.

Make Real-Time Quality Decisions

Investigate quality concerns, determine appropriate corrective actions, and partner with Production leadership to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Review Documentation

Ensure batch records, inspection reports, nonconformance reports, and production paperwork are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Maintain GMP Compliance

Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, sanitation requirements, and documentation standards throughout the facility.

Train & Develop Employees

Provide onboarding, coaching, and ongoing training to Quality Inspectors while reinforcing best practices and continuous improvement.

Drive Continuous Improvement

Identify trends, recurring quality concerns, and process improvement opportunities that reduce defects and improve efficiency.

Be the Voice of Quality

Build a culture where employees are empowered to identify issues, speak up, and prevent nonconforming products from reaching our customers.

Are You Qualified?
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership, Lead, or Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, FDA regulations, and quality systems.
  • Experience reviewing production documentation and conducting product inspections.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach employees and collaborate across departments.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in personal care, cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing is a plus.
