Purpose of Role

The Lead Sales - Golf serves as the strategic commercial lead for the Dick's Sporting Goods Golf business, Golf Galaxy business, and Golf Specialty business.  This role will be responsible for driving growth through account expertise, cross-functional partnership, and disciplined execution. This role sits within the Wholesale organization and works closely across Sales, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Digital to deliver integrated, consumer-driven outcomes.

This leader brings a strong understanding of the golf category, wholesale operating model, and wholesale best practices to shape account strategy, unlock growth opportunities, and ensure seamless execution across the business.

Your Impact

   Serve as the primary lead for the Dick's Sporting Goods Golf, Golf Galaxy, and Golf Specialty businesses, owning category performance, growth strategy, and execution.
   Develop and deliver annual and seasonal account strategies aligned to priorities and internal commercial objectives.
   Leverage deep knowledge of the golf category to influence assortment, pricing, promotions, and launch strategies in partnership with internal teams and Account stakeholders.
   Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, Supply Chain, and Digital teams to ensure alignment and end-to-end execution.
   Lead joint business planning efforts, including forecasting, sell-through analysis, and performance reviews.
   Identify growth opportunities across channels, product categories, and consumer segments, translating insights into actionable plans.
   Act as a trusted advisor to Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, and Golf Specialty accounts, building strong relationships and influencing outcomes through data, insight, and credibility.
   Ensure operational excellence across order management, inventory flow, and key go-to-market milestones.
   Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer insights to inform account strategy and recommendations.
   Champion internal alignment and accountability, ensuring teams are focused on the highest-impact priorities for the account.

Qualifications

   Bachelor's degree with typically 5 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with typically 3 years of relevant experience.
   5+ years of progressive experience in wholesale sales, account management, or commercial leadership, preferably within sporting goods or athletic categories.
   Deep knowledge of the golf category and familiarity with the business models and operating cadence of Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, and key Golf Specialty accounts.
   Proven ability to lead complex wholesale accounts and drive growth through strategic planning and execution.
   Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
   Demonstrated strength in data-driven decision-making, forecasting, and business analysis.
   Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
   Highly organized, planful, and execution-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
   Bachelor's degree required.

Workplace Location
  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore OR Pittsburgh office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.

Base Compensation

 $110,000.00-$150,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
