Consumer Digital Data Scientist

What you'll do:

The Consumer Digital Data & Reporting Scientist is responsible for supporting Consumer Digital Banking's core and online banking conversion efforts, data architecture management, reporting operations, and recurring data validation activities. This role will focus for the next six months on creating and validating conversion files, supporting UAT execution and taking a data leadership role for our Digital Banking transformation program.
  • Support core and online banking conversion activities, including file creation, data mapping, validation, issue tracking, and coordination with internal and vendor teams.
  • Assist with UAT planning and execution by preparing test files, validating test results, researching defects, and supporting remediation through retesting.
  • Verify monthly interest calculations by running the existing algorithm, reviewing outputs for accuracy, and making adjustments as needed based on business rules or calculation exceptions.
  • Statistical model development, testing, methodology and documentation
    • Deposit Pricing: Optimize rates to attract and retain customers while ensuring profitability.
    • Customer Retention: Predict likelihood of churn for proactive treatments.
    • Flow Forecasting: Predict the inflows and outflows of deposits over a specific time frame.
    • Fraud Risk: Identify potential fraud trends.
    • Marketing Performance: Marketing investment optimization by channel and customer journey optimization for acquisition, up-sell, and retention
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support recurring data feeds, including identifying failed loads, researching data discrepancies, and partnering with technology teams to resolve issues.
  • Manage reporting data architecture by maintaining data sources, report inputs, transformation logic, and dependencies used in operational and executive reporting.
  • Merge, reconcile, and improve data quality across systems to ensure consistency and accuracy before data is used for reporting, conversion, testing, or operational analysis.
  • Build ad-hoc analyses and summarize findings into clear, actionable insights for Consumer Digital Banking leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Document recurring processes, data definitions, file layouts, reporting logic, and control points to support repeatability, auditability, and operational continuity.

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years of related experience in Complex Financial Modeling & Model Mgmt. or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and Excel knowledge and experience and Tableau or other data reporting experience including automating reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Analysis with both small and large datasets and statistical modeling coursework or experience.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required.
