The Consulting Manager combines strategic leadership, client engagement, and operational oversight to ensure successful project delivery across multiple industries and clients. Acting as the leader of the organizations consultants to ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, are on time, and on budget. This role requires strong strategic oversight, risk management, customer relationship management, and leadership in project delivery while defining and ensuring adherence to best practices and driving improvements to methodologies.


In addition, Consulting Manager also spends time managing high profile and strategic customer projects.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of consultants across multiple consulting engagements.
  • Oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of client projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and client expectations.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for client stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development for consulting staff.
  • Collaborate with business development teams on proposals, RFPs, and project scoping.
  • Monitor project health, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans across the portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project delivery and team performance.
  • Manage the scope of medium to large projects, including multi-product and complex integrations.
  • Develop and execute detailed project management plans following Flexera's best practices.
  • Produce critical project documentation such as Statements of Work (SOWs), Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), Project Management Plans (PMPs), and Technical Design Documents.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and payment milestones.
  • Oversee cross-functional resources, including in-house consultants and third-party providers, to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Maintain active communication with all stakeholders, providing regular status updates and proactive risk mitigation plans.

Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee project budgets, revenue forecasts, invoicing, and margin goals.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy in relevant systems and deliver projects within agreed financial parameters.
  • Align project delivery with contractual obligations to minimize organizational risks.

Customer Relationship Management:
  • Act as the primary liaison with enterprise customers, handling escalations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to align project objectives with customer business goals.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and identifying opportunities for collaboration.

Business Development:
  • Identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities in existing projects, collaborating with sales and consulting teams.
  • Provide domain expertise and contribute to scoping and proposal development for new business pursuits.
  • Drive business development by aligning project outcomes with broader strategic priorities.

People Management:
  • Lead and mentor project teams, providing coaching and feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Address performance issues, identify professional development opportunities, and ensure cohesive team dynamics.
  • Promote communication and knowledge sharing within and across teams.

Knowledge Management and Sharing:
  • Contribute to the refinement and enhancement of Flexera's methodologies, tools, and knowledge repositories.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across professional communities and within project teams.

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Professional Skills:
