Job description

PYA is seeking a Healthcare Consulting Intern to join its high-performing and privately-owned firm with a dynamic culture and a strong national reputation in Summer 2027. This unique, in-office role provides the right candidate with cross-sectional experience within PYA’s collaborative consulting department and will enhance the candidate’s healthcare industry knowledge and expertise. 

Areas of exposure for the Healthcare Consulting Intern will span all or some of the following:

  • Business Valuation
  • Compensation Valuation and Design
  • Healthcare Strategy 
  • Healthcare Revenue and Compliance Advisory
  • Healthcare Operations Assessment and Improvements 
  • Transaction Advisory Services

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the successful completion of various healthcare client projects within a team environment by solving strategic issues requiring analytical, financial, and writing skills
  • Assist with research and data analysis for client proposals, reports, and presentations
  • Display a curiosity to learn from experienced leaders who support and guide our team

POSITION TYPE

  • 40 hours/week
  • May – August 2027

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant educational backgrounds include an undergraduate degree in one of the following:
    • Accounting, finance, or other analytical business disciplines
    • Business Administration, Public Health, and/or Health Administration or related fields 
  • Pursuit of graduate degree(s) and/or demonstrated professional experience in business and healthcare environments preferred
  • Outstanding written or oral communication skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a high level of strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills with a passion for helping clients 
  • Demonstrated experience self-reviewing work product and exhibiting attention to detail
