Job description

School Psychologist District (190 day)
NOTE:  ALL VACANCY NOTICES ARE PENDING UNTIL BOARD APPROVED.
POSITION:  SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Qualifications:
1.  Current Georgia certification in School Psychology (P-12).
2.  Hold or be eligible to hold a Specialist degree in School Psychology.
3.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports To:  Special Education Director
Supervises:  Clerical personnel as assigned
Terms of Employment:  190 day / 10 month contract; salary and work year to be established by the Board.
Job Goal:  To support students in accessing and benefiting from educational opportunities by assessing needs and recommending treatment or intervention strategies
Performance Responsibilities:
1.  Participate in all Tier 3 (MTSS) meetings and assist in developing individualized academic and behavioral intervention plans.
2.  Conduct behavioral observations and assist in creating Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and positive behavioral plans/charts for students as needed.
3.  Consult with teachers and administrators regarding Tier 2 students being considered for Tier 3 placement.  Consult regarding more severe Tier 1 or 2 students on an as needed basis. 
4.  Consult regarding Tier 4 (special education) students on an as needed basis.
5.  Consult with progress monitoring and assist in benchmark assessments on an as needed basis.
6.  Serve as a knowledgeable consultant regarding the Pyramid of Interventions (POI) and the process of Response To Intervention (RTI).
7.  Serve as a knowledgeable consultant regarding data collection and interpretation.
8. Assist in creating district-wide and school based RTI implementation plans.
9.  Serve as a knowledgeable consultant regarding special education eligibility and placement.
10.  Serve as a knowledgeable consultant regarding 504 eligibility
11.  Complete comprehensive evaluations for students being considered for Tier 4 (special education) placement.
12.  Attend all reevaluation review meetings to allow for supervision of the reevaluation review process and monitoring of student progress.
13.  Provides crisis intervention support as needed.
14.  Secures parental permission anytime a school psychologist works one-on-one with a student.
15.  Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
16.  Is punctual and regular in attendance.
17.  Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Superintendent/Director may from time to time assign.
