The Omaha, NE office is seeking a qualified, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and observant individual to serve as a Seasonal Construction Observer. This opportunity is for an energetic field representative familiar with public infrastructure projects. The position is responsible for accurate monitoring and documenting of construction projects. The Construction Observer assures that the project has been constructed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
A successful candidate will possess:
• Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Surveying experience;
• The ability to interpret civil engineering plans and specifications with attention to detail;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay plan and specification requirements to contractors and to effectively communicate with members of the project team;
• Well-developed problem-solving skills;
• The ability to collaborate with contractors, clients and coworkers;
• Proven organizational skills;
• The ability to work well with a variety of character types and backgrounds;
• Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam software;
• The ability to physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing stabilized excavations and trenches, structures and other disturbed areas;
• The ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of weight;
• The availability to work overtime including Saturdays as needed;
• A dependable personal vehicle to access our project sites; and
• Valid driver's license with minimum state required liability insurance and clean driving record.
