Construction Supervisor – Telecommunications

We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee crews responsible for the placement of underground and overhead telecommunications cable and materials. This is a full-time opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Wireline Outside Plant (OSP) construction experience. The Construction Supervisor will drive daily production, manage field personnel and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced OSP construction leader who enjoys being in the field, leading teams, and driving production. You’ll play a key role in keeping complex telecommunications projects moving while working directly with crews, subcontractors, customers, and leadership. The ideal candidate is someone who can balance safety, quality, productivity, and customer expectations while identifying opportunities to improve operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Wireline OSP construction crews performing underground and overhead telecommunications work
  • Drive daily operational production and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams to align construction schedules with customer priorities
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including build production, overage job management, and market productivity
  • Maintain daily production sheets, reporting, project photos, and construction databases
  • Read and interpret construction prints and plans
  • Manage customer escalations and resolve project roadblocks
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to company leadership
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • Build, motivate, and manage an effective field workforce
  • Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct supervisory experience leading Wireline OSP construction teams
  • 5+ years of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Wireline OSP construction experience
  • Proven experience managing production and field operations
  • Demonstrated experience placing fiber cable within the Right of Way (ROW)
  • Proven ability to build successful teams, motivate employees, and maintain strong relationships with customers, owners, subcontractors, and team members
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related construction/project management applications
  • Ability to manage safety, quality, and production on a daily basis
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities for operational improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing project budgets or related financial responsibilities
