What does a construction tile worker do?

A construction tile worker, often called a tile setter or tile installer, is responsible for installing tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in both residential and commercial buildings. They measure spaces, prepare surfaces, cut tiles to fit, and apply adhesives or grout to secure the tiles in place. Tile workers may work with a variety of materials, such as ceramic, porcelain, marble, or glass, to create durable and decorative surfaces. Their job requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of proper installation techniques to ensure a quality finish.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a construction tile setter?

To thrive as a Construction Tile Setter, you need proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing tile, along with a solid understanding of construction math and blueprint reading, often backed by a high school diploma or vocational training.
