Job description

Job Summary:

FSI’s Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to plans and specifications. This role acts as the on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, managing field personnel, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Project Oversight & Coordination

o Supervise all on-site construction activities from start to completion.

o Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to meet project timelines and deliverables.

o Ensure all work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes.

· Schedule Management

o Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules.

o Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet project milestones.

o Conduct regular site meetings with trades and project team to ensure alignment.

· Quality Assurance

o Enforce high standards of workmanship and quality control.

o Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

o Identify and resolve field issues proactively.

· Safety & Compliance

o Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

o Conduct daily safety briefings and inspections.

o Maintain accurate safety records and incident reports.

· Team Leadership & Communication

o Manage field personnel, including subcontractors and laborers.

o Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to on-site team.

o Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site activities.

· Documentation & Reporting

o Maintain daily reports, logs, and photos of project progress.

o Track and report delays, weather conditions, and other site impacts.

o Submit regular updates to the project manager.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5–10 years of experience in commercial or residential construction supervision.

· Proven ability to manage multiple trades and complex construction sites.

· Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and safety regulations.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction documents, and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).

· OSHA 30 certification preferred
