Location: Territories in the greater SF Bay Area

Compensation: $90K - $110K Base (DOE) + $10K - $20K Bonus

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Field Hybrid)

Reports To: Sales Director

Summary:

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing, managing, and expanding relationships with contractors, masons, builders, developers, and other construction professionals within their given territory. This role focuses on promoting and selling masonry building materials while serving as a trusted advisor to customers through product expertise, jobsite support, and superior service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow sales within the assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts
  • Proactively call on contractors, masons, builders, architects, and project managers through regular jobsite visits, customer meetings, and networking
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales goals for assigned product lines and accounts
  • Prepare and present pricing, quotes, and proposals in alignment with company guidelines
  • Track leads, opportunities, and sales activity using CRM tools
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with customers by understanding their business needs, project timelines, and material requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of issues
  • Coordinate with internal teams (inside sales, dispatch, yard, operations) to ensure accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
  • Address customer concerns related to pricing, delivery, product availability, and jobsite requirements
  • Maintain a strong understanding of masonry products, including block, brick, stone, pavers, mortar, accessories, and related building materials
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and customer preferences within the market
  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, applications, and best practices.
  • Support jobsite visits and product demonstrations as needed
  • Accurately document sales activity, forecasts, and pipeline updates in CRM systems
  • Collaborate with management on territory planning, sales strategies, and account prioritization
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and safety requirements during site visits

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in building materials, masonry products, construction supply, or a related industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the construction and masonry market within the region
  • Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling masonry, hardscape, or heavy building materials
  • Familiarity with jobsite operations and construction workflows
  • Ability to read plans and understand material takeoffs
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent travel throughout the territory
  • Ability to visit construction jobsites, including walking uneven terrain and climbing stairs
  • Occasional lifting of product samples (up to 25 lbs)
