Construction Observer

Job Description

  • Support project teams by performing on-site technical activities, collecting and validating data, commissioning and documenting results to help deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for clients. The role blends hands-on field work with clear, professional reporting and collaboration with engineers, project managers, and customer representatives. You will work with the team to determine the feasibility of commercial and design specifications for construction projects. This role involves being onsite on large commercial/industrial projects to perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions.

Responsibilities

    • Conduct on-site technical activities and collect data for project teams.
    • Validate data, commission results, and document findings.
    • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and customer representatives.
    • Determine feasibility of commercial and design specifications for construction projects.
    • Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions.

Essential Skills

    • Associate's degree in construction management or civil engineering or related field.
    • 1-3 years of commercial construction experience.
    • Pass MVR, concrete construction, and inspection knowledge.
    • Strong understanding of construction site safety and the commercial construction process.
    • Capable of detailed construction documentation that is accurate and legible.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Preferred experience as an inspector, observer, surveyor, or in construction materials testing (CMT).
    • Demonstrated successful experience interacting with onsite representatives, general contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Travel to other offices and project sites required, with limited travel outside of Omaha or Lincoln.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
