Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Assembly TechnicianJob Description

The Mechanical Assembly Technician works in a manufacturing environment assembling machine components according to detailed prints and standard operating procedures. This role involves hands-on mechanical work with hand and power tools, collaborating with team members and material handlers, and consistently producing quality assemblies within defined timeframes.

Responsibilities
  • Build machine components by accurately following mechanical prints and standard operating procedures.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to assemble mechanical parts and subcomponents.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to assemble different subcomponents that integrate into larger machines.
  • Coordinate with material handlers to identify, pick, and stage the correct parts required for each assembly.
  • Lift and move components weighing up to 50 pounds as part of the assembly process.
  • Complete individual component assemblies typically within 45 minutes to 1 hour while maintaining quality standards.
  • Follow written and verbal directions carefully to ensure correct assembly and safe operation of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of assembly or mechanical aptitude experience, such as building cars or working in a mechanical trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints and follow written instructions or standard operating procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of basic mechanical principles.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
