Job description

Construction Material Handler & Field Support

Brekhus Tile & Stone, is seeking a dependable, organized, and safety-focused Construction Material Handler & Field Support team member to support our airport field crews at Denver International Airport (DEN).

This position is responsible for coordinating material needs, deliveries, staging, and logistics support for active construction operations. The Construction Material Handler & Field Support team member works closely with the Operations Leader, Field Superintendent, Site Coordinator, Project Management, and field crews to ensure materials are available, organized, and delivered to the appropriate locations to support project schedules and daily production.

This is a hands-on position requiring construction site experience, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate material handling equipment in an active airport construction environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Material Handling & Field Support

  • Coordinate daily material needs for field crews working at Denver International Airport (DEN).
  • Communicate directly with field crews to identify upcoming material requirements and ensure necessary products, supplies, and materials are available.
  • Coordinate the delivery, staging, and movement of tile, stone, and construction materials throughout designated DEN project areas.
  • Work with vendors, operations personnel, and project teams to support material availability and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor material levels and communicate upcoming needs to help prevent delays or interruptions to field operations.
  • Ensure materials are properly staged, protected, and accessible for installation crews.
  • Support field installation crews with wastewater management and trash and debris removal
  • Assist installation crews with mobilization and de-mobilization

Material Handling

  • Safely load, unload, transport, and stage tile, stone, and construction materials within designated material areas at Denver International Airport (DEN).
  • Maintain organized material staging areas to ensure products are accessible, protected, and ready for field crews.
  • Conduct material checks and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, protected, and stored in designated locations.
  • Safely operate forklifts, golf carts, and other material handling equipment to transport, stage, and deliver materials throughout DEN while following company, airport, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate movement of materials from designated staging areas to active work locations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe material staging areas in accordance with project and airport requirements.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all Brekhus airport, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain safe work practices while handling materials, operating equipment, and working in active construction areas.
  • Comply with all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Denver International Airport security and access requirements.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Forklift Certified.
  • Experience working on active construction sites.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift and move construction materials.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
  • Telehandler Certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred).
  • Experience supporting construction logistics, material coordination, or field operations.

  • Ability to safely navigate active airport construction areas, designated material staging areas, and project locations.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced airport construction environment.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors at Denver International Airport (DEN).
  • Work takes place within designated material staging areas and active project locations.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, construction activities, and equipment operation.

Conditions of Employment

  • Applicants must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work on-site at Denver International Airport (DEN).
