Job description

  • Oversee construction activities from inception to move-in across assigned communities
  • Manage job sites, schedules, trade partners, project timelines, and scopes of work
  • Conduct twice-daily home walks to monitor progress, quality, schedule compliance, and profitability
  • Supervise construction from start to finish, including pre-construction, pre-drywall, and final presentation meetings
  • Negotiate cost-effective solutions with inspectors and trade partners
  • Identify efficiencies and best practices for Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
  • Manage daily trade partner communications and invoice approvals through Build Pro
  • Provide trade partner performance feedback to the Lead Construction Manager
  • Ensure job-site cleanliness, safety, and compliance with State and Federal building codes
  • Maintain safety logs and conduct regular on-site safety meetings
  • Perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections and maintain required records
  • Conduct inspections and final walkthroughs
  • Approve change orders, purchase orders, and safety documentation
  • Collaborate with sales, customer care, and management on communication and problem resolution
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in home building/construction, or equivalent pathway stated in the posting
  • Experience in residential construction management required
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Build Pro, Procore, and other construction management software
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Valid auto insurance coverage
  • Knowledge of construction practices and building codes
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours
  • Ability to work more than eight hours per day in confined construction-trailer quarters
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment over 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally operate construction equipment
  • Finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and calculator may be required
