Job description

Residential Construction Manager

Lead Projects. Build Teams. Drive Results.

NorthStar Builds is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead our residential remodeling and construction division. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing projects from estimate to final invoice while leading Project Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, field, and office teams.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong teams, and takes pride in delivering exceptional projects and customer experiences.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the NorthStar Builds division, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for residential remodeling and construction projects, review project scopes, manage change orders, and oversee project profitability from start to finish.
  • Manage project financials by reviewing budgets, monitoring costs, approving purchases, generating customer invoices, and ensuring all completed work is accurately billed.
  • Oversee project schedules, production timelines, and resource planning while supporting Project Managers and Foremen to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor quality, resolve challenges, provide leadership, and ensure company standards are being met.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Foremen, and field staff while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the design, office, and accounting teams to ensure projects transition smoothly from estimate through final completion and invoicing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, control costs, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of residential construction, remodeling, or restoration management experience.
  • Proven experience preparing estimates and managing construction project budgets.
  • Experience overseeing customer invoicing, change orders, and project financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, scheduling, subcontractor management, and project execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing Project Managers, Foremen, or construction teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction documents.
  • Experience with JobTread, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 30-60 pounds frequently during shift. Occasional 100 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a work environment for up to an 12 hour work shift.
