Job description

Commercial Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations on commercial construction sites. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance with design specifications and building codes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all field activities on commercial construction projects, including scheduling subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
  • Monitor project timelines, costs, and resources to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation including logs, reports, safety records, and daily progress notes.
  • Enforce safety regulations and lead regular safety meetings to promote a culture of safety.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Oversee the delivery and use of materials and equipment.
  • Assist in preparing and managing project punch lists and closeout activities.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
