The ideal candidate will have strong construction experience, be knowledgeable and experienced in operating construction equipment, be mechanically inclined, and be capable of safely transporting equipment between job sites.

Construction Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and general construction labor on agricultural and commercial construction projects.
  • Work alongside construction crews to complete daily project activities.
  • Operate construction equipment as needed to support jobsite operations.
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, material handling, demolition, installation, and other construction-related work.
  • Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, telehandlers, compactors, and other construction equipment as qualified.
  • Perform basic daily inspections of equipment before operation.
  • Recognize basic equipment operating issues and communicate mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Load, unload, stage, and move equipment and materials around active construction sites.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Perform additional construction duties as needed to keep projects moving efficiently.

CDL & Equipment Transportation Responsibilities

  • Transport construction equipment, machinery, tools, and materials between company and customer job sites as needed.
  • Operate Class A CDL trucks and trailers, including lowboys, flatbeds, side dumps, belly dumps, and other company trucks and trailers.
  • Safely load and unload construction equipment and machinery.
  • Properly position, secure, and verify equipment and loads prior to transportation.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain required driver logs, inspection reports, and DOT paperwork.
  • Safely navigate county roads, farms, rural areas, construction sites, and remote locations.
  • Assist with equipment mobilization and demobilization between projects.
  • Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment and report mechanical or safety concerns.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently when needed.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable working in agricultural environments, rural locations, and active construction sites.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be insurable under the company's insurance policy.

CDL Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL.

  • Must be able to climb on and around trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.
  • Must be able to safely load and unload construction equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to visually inspect trucks, trailers, machinery, and construction equipment.
  • Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods when transporting equipment between job sites.

Compensation & Benefits

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is a skilled construction worker and experienced equipment operator who also holds a Class A CDL.

This employee will work directly with our construction crews, operate construction equipment on active job sites, and transition into a driving role when equipment, machinery, or materials need to be transported between projects.

The ideal candidate is versatile, dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, takes pride in their work, and is capable of moving between construction labor, equipment operation, and CDL driving responsibilities as the needs of the project change.
