Job Title:ย  Ironworker-- Bennettsville, SC

Job Summary:ย 

MOR PPM, Inc. seeks an experienced Ironworker for a full-time position located in Bennettsville, SC. The candidate selected for this role must have knowledge of metal fabrication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:ย 

  • Cut metal plates, angle iron, and other materials to be used in construction projects like buildings, roads, and bridges.ย 
  • Choose the type of material that will be required to build new products from scratch or to fix existing ones.
  • Build models and molds in preparation for casting concrete or other materials.ย 
  • Prepare metal surfaces for more work via welding, cutting, soldering, grinding, brazing, and polishing.ย 
  • Examine all engineering designs to make sure they are implemented by welding requirements.ย 
  • Use shaping and cutting tools to assist with all welding tasks.ย 
  • Aid in the production process and mold different fixtures.ย 
  • Use a gas torch and welder to fuse various metal objects effectively.ย 
  • Utilize welding devices to prepare new items and restore damaged alloy items.ย 
  • Utilize various hand and power instruments to complete tasks.ย 
  • Use a welding flame to cut all metal by specifications and diagrams after careful analysis.
  • Analyze completed products and inspect them for quality.ย 
  • Put together old units and, if necessary, carry out modifications and repairs.ย 

Experience:

  • ย 3 years work experience as a metal fabricator

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to use several fabrication tools.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required. Fire resistant (FR's may be required)
