Construction framing is the process of building the structural skeleton of a building, typically using wood or metal materials. This framework provides support for the walls, floors, and roof, forming the shape and strength of the structure. Framing is a critical phase in construction, as it ensures the building is stable and can support the loads placed upon it. Skilled framers use plans or blueprints to assemble the framework accurately and safely. Proper framing is essential for the overall durability and safety of any building.

Familiarity with power tools, measuring devices, blueprints, and safety certifications (like OSHA) is commonly required. Attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities ensure structures are built accurately, safely, and efficiently, which is critical for project success.
