Job description

Who We Are:

From Georgia. For Georgia. Since 1914 Yancey Bros. Co. has proudly served as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, providing our customers with the highest quality sales, parts and service. From Caterpillar heavy and compact construction equipment to on-highway trucks, we remain committed to learning more about our customers, offering equipment and support to keep up with their changing needs. This all starts with our greatest asset…our employees.

What You Will Be Doing:

As the Rental Pump Manager, you will ensure the pump rental division operates efficiently, profitably, and with a strong customer-focus.  This role is responsible for meeting the needs of construction, industrial, municipal, and emergency service customers by providing reliable pumping solutions. As a leader, you will make key decisions regarding staffing, pump fleet mix, budgets, and rental operations. You will oversee equipment availability, maintenance standards, and customer service excellence while driving growth through strategic planning and operational execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a high level of customer service across the branch, meeting or exceeding location goals.
  • Drive market penetration for pump rentals and increase branch revenue.
  • Conduct performance reviews for staff and hold meetings to discuss strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings to reinforce the branch’s safety culture.
  • Handle or assist in resolving customer service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Review all rental contracts daily for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess fleet needs daily to maintain the proper mix of pumps and related equipment.
  • Assist with debt collection through phone calls or in-person visits.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; assign and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline staff; address complaints and resolve problems.
                  Additional Responsibilities:
                  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
                  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
                  Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position, you should have prior experience in operations management, business planning, or managing a rental equipment division, preferably with pumps or fluid handling solutions. A detailed understanding of financial and operational metrics—such as fleet utilization, rental revenue, and maintenance costs—and the ability to impact these through strategic decisions is essential. Strong leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction will set you apart in this role.

                  Education/Experience:
                  • High school diploma or equivalent
                  • 3-5 years in operations management, business planning, or managing a rental equipment division, preferably pumps or fluid handling solutions.
                  Required Qualifications/Skills:
                  • Proven success in team leadership and staff development.
                  • Strong understanding of the pump rental industry, including fleet management and customer service.
                  • Detailed knowledge of financial and operational metrics such as utilization, revenue, and maintenance costs, with the ability to influence them effectively.
                  • Experience managing analytically rigorous initiatives and driving process improvements.
                  • Demonstrated leadership, vision, competitiveness, and drive.
                  • High accountability and initiative with advanced problem-solving capabilities.
                  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for internal teams and customer interactions.
                  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
                                Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
                                • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience preferred
                                • Knowledge of Spanish language preferable but not required.
