Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineering Sr. Manager to be based in Oakland, CA.

Job Description:

  • Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
  • Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • May have budget responsibilities.
  • Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.
  • Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.
  • Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day

Performing the duties of a Construction Manager, including, but not limited to:

  • Roadway construction inspection, quantity calculations, checking grade and alignment, labor compliance interviews, traffic control review, and assuring compliance with project plans and specifications.  
  • Identifying actual and potential problems associated with the construction projects.
  • Work and recommend sound engineering solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining an awareness of safety and health requirements and assuring.
  • Compliance with applicable regulations and construction contract provisions for the protection of the public and construction project personnel.  
  • Preparing quantity calculations, records, reports, and correspondence related to construction project activities.  
  • Assisting in the preparation of final As-Built plans and reports at the completion of construction.  
  • Performing and assisting in all aspects of required office construction engineering work including setting up and maintaining project files, processing required documents and progress payments, as necessary.
  • Performing the Inspection and compliance monitoring of Storm Water Pollution. 
  • Prevention Plans (SWPPP)/Best Management Practices (BMP).
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
  • Driving is required for this position- MVR check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CalTrans CM/GC Experience as a Resident Engineer.
  • Large infrastructure experience in Road and Bridge construction.
  • PE in the state of California.
