Job description

Position Summary:

EV Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for leading commercial and industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with EV Construction’s quality standards. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, a good communicator, organized, possesses leadership qualities, willing to train and assist others, and excited about construction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction projects from start to finish, taking full ownership of project execution and outcomes.
  • Lead and manage the preconstruction and estimating portion of the project and take complete ownership of budget assembly through contract and closeout.
  • Support day-to-day project needs while also facilitating long-term planning and project strategy.
  • Coordinate closely with field teams to ensure alignment between project plans and on-site execution.
  • Manage all project contract documents, including subcontracts, change orders, and related documentation.
  • Facilitate project coordination meetings, develop action items, and drive progress through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Assemble, review, and execute trade partner change orders.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with owners, designers, and trade partners.
  • Coordinate overall project scheduling and planning in collaboration with field leadership.
  • Manage project financials, including trade invoicing, owner pay applications, cost tracking, margin analysis, and cost estimating.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop strategies to mitigate issues.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, architectural technology, construction engineering, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architectural technology, engineering, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Estimating or preconstruction experience.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software (MS Project).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Proficiency in Procore.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and/or Adobe.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, architectural technology, construction engineering, or a related field.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This is a field-based role requiring work in outdoor Florida conditions and active construction environments. Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 75 lbs occasionally)
  • Work at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
  • Stand, walk, sit, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • Safely navigate active jobsites
  • See small details at close range

Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as proper footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, and earplugs (if applicable), shall be always worn on construction sites unless otherwise specified.
