Construction Manager Multiple Engineering Disciplines (Exempt) Major Healthcare Government Programs (VA)

Location(s): West Haven, CT

FLSA Classification: Exempt
Salary Range: $80,000 $110,000 annually

Compensation is based on role level, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and program needs, in accordance with applicable state and local laws.


About the Opportunity

SIRIS is actively building a strong candidate pipeline to support multiple awarded and upcoming Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare construction projects across several U.S. locations. This posting supports Construction Manager openings, with placement based on candidate preference, experience, and program needs.

Candidates will be considered for immediate and near-term project assignments as programs mobilize.

About the Role

In this role, you will function in an Owners Representative and advisory capacity, supporting major federal healthcare construction programs from design through construction and closeout. You will report to a Program Manager and work closely with VA client representatives, contractors, designers, and internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and successful project delivery.

This role does not perform trade or contractor self-perform work. Instead, it focuses on oversight, coordination, analysis, and client representation on complex healthcare construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Construction Manager will be a part of a team of professionals and act as the Owner's Representative role on these programs from design through construction and closeout. The Construction Manager will be required to learn and integrate our companys best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality and operations in the healthcare environment. The Construction Manager will act as an advisor/liaison with the client (user groups, design team, contractors, and facility engineering representatives). The Construction Management services will be used to support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts. A summary of the major tasks is below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of healthcare construction projects from design through closeout
  • Monitor and analyze project budgets, expenditures, change orders, and cost trends
  • Review construction schedules, progress reports, and contractor performance
  • Participate in project meetings and support payment reviews and reporting
  • Maintain documentation supporting issue identification, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution
  • Monitor testing, inspection, and quality assurance activities for compliance
  • Support commissioning activities, including coordination and documentation review
  • Review contractor submittals and reported progress for conformance with approved plans and contracts
  • Prepare analytical reports and correspondence for client and leadership review
  • Apply company best practices related to healthcare project delivery, safety, quality, and compliance

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration, construction management, or a related field
  • Experience supporting regulated environments (healthcare, federal, or institutional) preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred

  • Experience supporting VA, DOD, or other federal healthcare construction programs
  • Professional certifications such as PE, EIT, CCM, PMP, or RCDD
  • Healthcare or institutional building construction experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Full-time onsite work at active construction sites and office environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and access construction areas in compliance with safety requirements
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
