Position Overview

Elevate Recycling and Disposal Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in the greater Salt Lake City area. This is a key role within our finance organization, responsible for supporting the financial health and integrity of a multi-entity operating company in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting, can manage competing priorities, and brings a high degree of accuracy and professionalism to everything they do.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entities. Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.

Multi-Entity Accounting: Manage accounting operations across multiple subsidiaries, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting. Maintain organized and accurate records for each entity within the Elevate portfolio.

Payroll: Oversee and process multi-state payroll in coordination with HR, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts, working closely with operations and leadership to develop accurate financial projections and variance analyses.

Audit Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring all documentation is organized and readily available.

General Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, manage accounts payable and receivable oversight, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.


Qualifications

— Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing

— 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to multi-entity or multi-state environments strongly preferred

— Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

— Experience with payroll processing and multi-state payroll compliance

— Proficiency in Sage Intacct required; prior experience in a multi-entity environment within the platform is strongly preferred

— Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

— Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines

— Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments

— Experience in the waste, environmental services, or transportation industry is a plus but not required
