POSITION OVERVIEW: Supports strategic financial planning, performance monitoring, process improvement, and data-driven reporting that enables informed decision-making and helps improve company financial performance. Evaluates profitability, pricing, promotional effectiveness, and ROI, and develops and maintains databases and dashboards that visualize key performance metrics. Develops financial models; supports budgeting and forecasting; manages and optimizes consignment inventory held in customer-facilities; and prepares appropriate accounting entries related to cost, sales, and marketing activity

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Contributes to the annual budgeting process, including data preparation and distribution.
  • Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives, product launches, or market expansions.
  • Support the company’s sales & operations planning (S&OP) process by aligning financial forecasts with operational plans and contributing to cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to assess pricing strategies and promotional effectiveness.
  • Perform pricing analysis to evaluate profitability, competitive positioning, and margin impact, including the creation and ongoing updates of company-wide price lists.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to sales and marketing activities, ensuring accurate financial representation of trade spend, promotions, and accruals.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and operations to help analyze and resolve sales, royalties, fines/deductions, and other customer-related issues.
  • Lead ad-hoc analysis and special projects to support strategic initiatives and respond to executive inquiries.

Financial and Sales Reporting

  • Prepare daily, monthly, and annual financial and sales reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze data for sales and marketing departments with comparisons of actual versus budget and prior year.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
  • Manage and optimize databases used for financial and sales reporting, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes and tools to enhance usability and impact.

Customer Consignment Inventory Management

  • Track and monitor on-hand inventory balances at customer locations, with an emphasis on consigned inventory programs.
  • Identify and proactively manage the aging and stock levels of consignment inventories at customer sites and reconcile between Mueller and customer systems/records.
  • Coordinate with operations & logistics for timely product deliveries and returns, maintain inventory targets, and ensuring strong replenishment strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the position functions of the job.

Three or more years of accounting or other related experience.

  •  

Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.
