Job Summary: Coordinates management of raw materials for the Spanish Fork operation, with a primary focus on purchased scrap, to increase Cast House PU scrap utilization and achieve financial targets through lowest-cost charge planning.

What you will be doing
  • Coordinate supply line processes for incoming scrap from supplier to delivery (Packaging, Carriers, Delivery Expectations, Scheduling, On-Site Segregation) Maintain daily and monthly attainment processes.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Metal Procurement to seek out PU Scrap sources that align with increasing the purchased scrap utilization rate while maintaining/improving historical spread variance.
  • Coordinate Vendor qualification process to include maintain and track performance, coordinate quality checks to verify continued adherence to quality expectations, oversee the DMR processes for scrap.
  • Coordinate with Cast House resources to create opportunities to utilize different types of scrap to accommodate low cost charge planning while protecting alloy analysis "first time right."
  • Coordinate {monitor and evaluate} one time opportunities for scrap purchases.
  • Coordinate {monitor and evaluate} consignment opportunities for scrap.
  • Tracking Scrap Receipts and PO's with weekly and month end reconciliation reporting.
  • Evaluate RSI chemistries and make recommendations on utilization vs. sale options to increase other purchase scrap types along with investigating, evaluating and coordinating scrap sources that can be transitioned into RSI to increase purchased scrap utilization and/or reducing commercial metals expense.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:  

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Analytical skills with proven record of solving problems.
  • Organizational skills with proven record of multi-tasking.
  • Basic understanding of the Cast House scheduling, receiving, and charge process.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven knowledge of raw material alloy chemistries and previous purchasing or buying experience preferred.
