Treasures from the Heart, in River Falls, is seeking an energetic, customer-focused person to join its team!    

The Store Associate of Adoray's Treasures from the Heart Store is responsible for assisting the manager with day-to-day operations of the second-hand store. The individual will focus on sorting and pricing goods and stocking the floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with general operations of the store, taking direction from the store manager, and if applicable assistant manager.

Assist customers in locating and/or selecting merchandise 

Process customer sale transactions using cash register, bag merchandise, and thank the customer.

Accurately conduct sales transactions and maintain cash and credit card control by following proper procedures regarding voids, refunds, checks, credit cards, etc. 

Give excellent customer service and remain calm and professional under stressful situations 

Maintain the sales floor and inventory in a clean, neat and properly displayed manner 

Provides superior customer service to customers, uses cash register, and accepts donations.

Establishes and ensures consistent implementation of store policies including but not limited to the condition and type of inventory accepted; pricing strategies; consignment guidelines; return policy, etc.

Providing donors with a receipt for merchandise, ensuring all applicable Federal and State tax regulations are followed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

One-year experience in working in a retail or second-hand store preferred.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work autonomously and make independent judgments.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Exhibit excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills

Ensures consistent implementation of store policies as directed by the store manager, and assistant manager.

Strictly maintains professional boundaries in all customer situations and adheres to Treasures from the Heart Standards of Conduct and mission.

Takes the initiative to identify problems, find solutions and follow through on solutions in a timely manner as appropriate.

Serves as an "ambassador" to the communities we serve regarding the store and its fund-raising purpose, tying it back to Adoray Home Health and Hospice's programs and mission.

Respects the individuality and wishes of others by such actions as extending a warm welcome, introducing self, making eye contact, addressing people by the name they prefer, and/or by honoring cultural differences.


Physical Requirements

Job involves standing more than four hours per day; stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs. etc. are regularly required.

Visual acuity of 20/20 with or without correction.

Work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precaution such as safe lifting procedures.
