Job Summary

The Manager, Donor Relations, plays a crucial role in supporting Brady’s philanthropic endeavors. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to engage, retain, and steward donors, ensuring long-term relationships that support Brady. Additionally, the Manager, Donor Relations, plays a crucial role in developing & managing Brady’s donor benefits program and long-term donor stewardship plan to support a variety of fundraising campaigns. This includes adapting to meet evolving donor needs, tracking the fulfillment of donor benefits, and ensuring that all benefits are delivered on time and to the highest standards. The Manager, Donor Relations, oversees the creation and distribution of personalized donor recognition. The Manager,  Donor Relations, ensures that donors feel valued, appreciated, and connected to Brady’s mission. Key duties include planning and managing donor stewardship events and touch points, tracking and reporting on stewardship metrics, maintaining accurate donor records in the database, creating personalized communication plans, and writing donor communications (such as thank-you letters, acknowledgment letters, and project-specific updates).


Duties and Responsibilities

Communications, Marketing Strategy, and Events

  • Write and distribute donor communications, such as newsletters, annual reports, and personalized thank-you letters, to keep donors informed and engaged.

  • Develop and execute in-person and virtual donor briefings.

  • Prepare weekly acknowledgments and general thank-you letters to donors/sponsors

  • Create and implement donor cultivation plans, ensuring effective communication and engagement with donors

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of fundraising events with stewardship and cultivation for events.

  • Leadership of Donor Appreciation Week

  • Develop and Execute Donor Recognition Anniversary Circles


Donor Engagement, Cultivation, and Stewardship

  • Organize and manage donor-centric events and activities to foster a strong sense of community and appreciation among donors, building and maintaining strong relationships. 

  • Create and manage an annual donor stewardship plan and timeline, noting strategies for segmented donors, organizational campaigns, donor retention, donor recognition, donor thanks, and timely acknowledgment letters


Fundraising and Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify and develop tailored approaches to solicit and steward major donors already in the pipeline. 

  • Create a long-term donor stewardship and retention plan to develop, manage, and grow ongoing individual donor, corporate sponsorships, and foundation relationships.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in donor recognition, stewardship, and developing personalized donor engagement strategies.

  • At least 3 years of professional experience.

  • At least one year of experience in donor relations, stewardship, or a related field for a non-profit organization.

  • Experience in nonprofits and nonprofit management, with a focus on fundraising and campaigns, is preferred.

  • Proficient in managing donor databases and relationship management to support long-term donor engagement.

  • Event planning and coordination

  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to effectively convey Brady’s mission. 

  • Ability to build meaningful, collaborative relationships with external partners of Brady.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to take initiative and adapt with a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive collaboration and ability to anticipate needs with a flexible mindset. 

  • Exhibits high standards of accountability and par excellence customer service and stewardship.

  • Integrates friendliness and courtesy into all aspects of work.


The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually, with the exact salary depending on experience. Competitive benefits include employer-funded health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; pre-tax parking and transit accounts; 403(B) plan with employer match; Employer-paid basic life and AD&D coverage; reimbursement for cell phone use; Headspace subscription; 16 weeks paid parental leave; unlimited PTO plus paid week closure at the end of the calendar year; and eleven paid federal holidays.
