What You'll Do

As an Early Childhood Educator at Encompass, you will:

Create nurturing, engaging learning environments that support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development

Implement the HighScope Curriculum through active learning, observation, and assessment

Use Conscious Discipline strategies to foster safe, respectful, and inclusive classrooms

Build strong partnerships with children and families

Maintain developmentally appropriate, high-quality learning environments

Collaborate with Center Directors, fellow educators, and advocates

Participate in ongoing professional growth


What We're Looking ForAssistant Teachers

High school diploma required

Two non-credit early childhood courses completed preferred

Interest in early childhood education and a desire to continue learning and growing in the field


Lead Teachers

Associate degree in early childhood, child development, or a related field

Bachelor's degrees in unrelated fields are welcome to apply

Classroom experience and understanding of developmentally appropriate, relationship-based practice preferred

  Compensation   

Assistant Teachers: $15.00-$20.00 per hour (2 credits in ECE or both DCF-approved non-credit course in ECE)

Lead Teachers: $18.00-$24.00 per hour (associate's degree or higher in ECE or related field)
Pay based on education, experience, and Registry level
