Role Summary
The Director, Advanced Site Connectivity Solutions is a senior leader responsible for defining, delivering, and scaling connectivity and digital site solutions that enable intelligent, data-driven operations across customer environments. This role operates at the intersection of connectivity, infrastructure, edge computing, and technology/digital platform solutions, ensuring seamless integration between physical assets, network technologies, and enterprise platforms. The Director leads strategy, solutioning, and execution for advanced connectivity ecosystems including private networks, satellite networks, edge solutions, telemetry systems, and site-level digital infrastructure while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term value creation.
What You Will Do:
1) Connectivity & Site Solutions Strategy
  • Define and lead the strategy for advanced connectivity and site-level connectivity solutions across customer environments.
  • Drive adoption of scalable, secure, and high-performance connectivity architectures (e.g., private LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, satellite, edge computing).
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to align connectivity capabilities with customer needs and enterprise strategy.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive advantage in connected site solutions.

2) Solution Architecture & Platform Integration
  • Lead end-to-end solutioning for connected site ecosystems, integrating devices, networks, platforms, and applications.
  • Advocate for solutions that maximize reuse, interoperability, and scalability.
  • Ensure seamless integration across various platforms, cloud environments, edge systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to define standards and reference architecture for connected site deployments.

3) Portfolio Governance & Delivery Excellence
  • Own the portfolio of site connectivity solutions initiatives, including intake, prioritization, and sequencing.
  • Establish governance frameworks to manage scope, timelines, dependencies, and financial performance.
  • Drive execution across multiple concurrent programs, ensuring predictable and high-quality delivery.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through metrics tied to adoption, reliability, cost efficiency, and business impact.

4) Customer-Centric Solutioning
  • Ensure deep understanding of customer site environments and operational challenges.
  • Translate customer needs into integrated connectivity and digital infrastructure solutions.
  • Support go-to-market strategies and customer engagements for advanced connectivity offerings.
  • Enable tailored solutions for complex environments such as construction sites, mining operations, and remote industrial locations.

5) Program & Delivery Operating Model
  • Establish scalable delivery models for multi-site, multi-technology deployments.
  • Define governance, operating rhythms, and escalation paths across programs.
  • Drive standardization of deployment, implementation, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Ensure alignment between global, regional, and site-level delivery teams.

6) Engineering & Technology Leadership
  • Partner with engineering teams to define standards for connectivity, security, and system reliability.
  • Enable best practices for system integration related to connectivity solutions.
  • Ensure incorporation of cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance requirements into all solutions.
  • Oversee tooling and platforms that enable visibility into connectivity performance and site operations.

7) Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote agile and hybrid delivery models to accelerate solution deployment.
  • Build organizational capability in rapid deployment and iteration of connectivity solutions.
  • Develop and nurture partner eco-system to deliver innovative site connectivity solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement based on operational performance data and customer feedback.
  • Champion innovation, experimentation, and scalable best practices.

What You Have (Required Qualifications):
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related field and significant experience in connectivity, infrastructure, or digital platform delivery in complex environments
  • Connectivity & Infrastructure Expertise: Experience with site connectivity solutions (e.g., 5G/private LTE, Wi-Fi, satellite, edge computing) with a strong understanding of ecosystems, telemetry, and digital site infrastructure
  • Program & Portfolio Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex, multi-program portfolios and experience with large-scale deployments across distributed environments
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, including managers and senior technical leaders
  • Agile & Delivery Excellence: Experience delivering complex solutions in agile or hybrid environments
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional executive communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent)
  • Experience with industrial or heavy equipment environments (construction, mining, energy)
  • Expertise in edge computing and connected site architecture
  • Experience with global deployments across remote or challenging environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks for connected infrastructure
  • Certifications in program management or agile methodologies

Summary Pay Range:
$189,080.00 - $283,630.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
