We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Server Systems Configuration Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for rebuilding, configuring, staging, and testing enterprise server hardware prior to deployment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with rack-mounted servers, storage systems, and high-performance AI infrastructure platforms such as Dell and NVIDIA-based systems. This position requires strong technical aptitude, precision, and the ability to follow structured build processes in a fast-paced lab or warehouse environment. 


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Rebuild, refurbish, and configure enterprise-grade servers to customer specifications 
  • Disassemble and reassemble rack-mounted servers including component replacement and upgrades 
  • Configure AI and GPU-based servers, including Dell PowerEdge platforms and NVIDIA GPU systems 
  • Install and configure GPUs (A100, H100, RTX series, etc.), high-capacity RAM, NVMe storage, and RAID arrays 
  • Perform BIOS, iDRAC, firmware, and system controller updates 
  • Install and configure operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, RHEL, or CentOS) 
  • Configure RAID controllers, storage arrays, and network interfaces 
  • Conduct hardware diagnostics, stress testing, and burn-in testing for validation 
  • Verify GPU recognition, driver installation, and CUDA/NVIDIA software stack configuration 
  • Perform cable management and rack integration 
  • Image systems and apply standardized deployment templates 
  • Document hardware configurations, serial numbers, asset tags, and testing results 
  • Troubleshoot hardware compatibility issues and replace defective components 
  • Follow ESD safety protocols and hardware handling standards 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on custom AI server builds and performance requirements 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in IT or related field preferred) 
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building or configuring enterprise servers 
  • Experience working with Dell PowerEdge or similar enterprise hardware platforms 
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU hardware and AI server environments 
  • Working knowledge of Linux server environments 
  • Understanding of RAID configurations, storage technologies (SAS, SATA, NVMe), and networking fundamentals 
  • Ability to interpret technical build sheets and hardware diagrams 
  • Strong troubleshooting and hardware diagnostic skills 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse, lab, or rack environment 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with AI infrastructure or high-performance computing (HPC) systems 
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or similar certification 
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V) 
  • Familiarity with CUDA, NVIDIA drivers, and GPU firmware updates 
  • Experience performing server refurbishments or asset recovery projects
