JOB TITLE: CONFIGURATION MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
CLEARANCE: SECRET OR ABILITY TO OBTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE
LOCATION: HOLLYWOOD, MD

PRIMARY FUNCTION

This position is responsible for the tracking of UAV configurations and deliverables. This role ensures all UAV configurations meet the customer's contractual and operational requirements. The Configuration Manager is responsible for the CM processes, control, updating, and tracking of the configurations of all UAVs used by Platform Aerospace or purchased by customers.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures inventory of all aircraft owned by Platform Aerospace is kept current in the relevant database.
  • Ensures inventory of all aircraft purchased by customers is kept current in the relevant database.
  • Ensures all aircraft configurations are current and updated in accordance with Platform Aerospace procedures or contractual requirements.
  • Collaborates with Project Management to understand configuration management requirements for all assigned contracts.
  • Reviews project plans, templates, drawings, and/or software documents to ensure continuity of product design configuration meets contractual requirements.
  • Collaborates with Project Management on implementation of approved modifications across the Platform Aerospace fleet or customer fleets.
  • Assists with developing and implementing records and status tracking for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates with the Engineering team to track BOM changes that align with product and customer requirements.
  • Collaborates with the QA team to develop processes for tracking equipment failures and reporting metrics.
  • Streamlines processes and collaboration, as needed, to improve efficiency within the company.
  • Gathers information and maintains compliance documentation.
  • Analyzes data and business processes to identify optimization opportunities and reports metrics to Directors and the Executive Team.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 5-7 years of related experience; Associate's degree and 9 years of experience; or 11 years of experience in lieu of education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of organization.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and/or configuration management (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • ERP/MRP experience preferred, specifically Deltek Costpoint.
  • Database entry and configuration experience.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks for sustained periods independently or within a team environment.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to traverse the manufacturing facility.
