Job description

Job Summary:
ePlus inc. is a company that values technology as a people business, and they are seeking a Sr. Configuration Center Technician. This role involves managing multi-customer, multivendor configuration projects, ensuring that all configurations are prepared accurately and delivered on time.
Responsibilities:
• Follow detailed specifications for the setup, configuration and testing of customer equipment
• Set up a variety of equipment types for configuration and testing (including PCs, peripheral equipment, servers and network equipment)
• Configure customer equipment as appropriate to projects
• Complete customer configuration check-off lists to ensure 100% accuracy of configured devices and shipments
• Track and record inventory required for projects
• Prepare configured equipment for shipment
• Data management involving configuration status, schedules and project deliverables
• Assist as needed with the daily maintenance, clean-up and organization of the Configuration Lab including lifting and packaging of boxes
• Limited Field Technician support may be required for installation, training, scope definition, or as back up for the project team resources. Occasional travel may be required.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the customer's configuration process which may involve professionally interfacing directly with customers to gather configuration information as needed
• Document and troubleshoot vendor equipment exceptions (DOA and damaged)
• Participate in project-related meetings as needed
• Assist with job status reporting via Microsoft Office and other Bailiwick tools
• Contribute to process documentation
• Effectively communicates throughout the organization
• Takes direction accurately and provide constructive feedback when appropriate
• Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships - developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time: Project Teams, Warehouse Department
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and VMware Hypervisor
• Basic PC troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems
• Exposure to technical (LAN/WAN) environments and understanding of basic terminology and functions
• Experience with rack and stack, labeling, and cabling is required
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite tools
• Physically able to lift PCs, servers, peripherals and network equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
• Ability to accurately track, troubleshoot and problem solve
• Enthusiastic with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to manage one's own time effectively
• Proven quality assurance aptitude
Preferred:
• Configuration Lab experience a plus
• Field installation experience involving low voltage infrastructure a plus
• LAN / WAN certifications a plus
• Microsoft Certifications a plus
• CCNA or other related certifications a plus
