Provides daily ongoing deployment, configuration, support, administration, maintenance and technical solutions to various technology components that make up the data center environment.
Compensation Range for this Role: $79,000-$127,000 CAD (based on experience)
This role has a hybrid work requirement of 2 days minimum in office per week.
Additionally, this position requires the successful completion of a Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) as a condition of employment. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance throughout their employment.
  • Develops or modifies IT Infrastructure to meet business objectives.

  • Maintains and implements technical solutions, specifications, and documentation for various sized projects or daily support initiatives.

  • Works with multiple customers, stakeholders, and system owners to produce requirements, determine feasibility, analyze cost/benefits requirements, and recommend design solution options.

  • Provides training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge.

  • Completes routine preventative measures (system health checks) and maintains/monitoring network security.

  • Ability to work a rotational on-call shift and after hours when necessary.

  • Must have or be able to obtain security clearance.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related fields and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experienced with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Linux, Network, Switching/Routing, Firewalls, Data Protection, LAN, WAN, MPLS and Monitoring systems. Install, configure, and maintain switches, servers, firewalls, and hard drives.

  • Experience building servers and maintaining rack elevation.

  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise scale systems with High Availability Configurations (Clustering, Load Balancing, Fault Tolerance, etc.), Systems Configuration Management, Optimization Tuning, and Monitoring.

  • Preferred background working in security focused environments with skills in audit remediation and systems hardening.

  • Experience with scripting, automation a plus.

  • Monitor the environmental conditions of a data center to ensure they are optimum for servers, routers, and other devices.

  • Organize the floor space surrounding data center equipment to allow for accessibility.

  • Resolve operational, infrastructure or hardware incidents in a data center.

  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware (rack and blade form factors).

  • Good understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Generators, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU/PMM units, and CRAC units.
