Job Details:
Mercer Athletics is searching for an Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and Administration on the Macon, Georgia campus.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for monitoring and education in matters concerning Mercer's compliance with NCAA, conference and institutional rules. The incumbent will also be responsible for internal matters relating to administrative policy, game contracts, facility usage and other activities by outside entities. This position will also serve as a liaison on campus to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and will serve as the liaison and contact for institution compliance software program. The incumbent is also responsible for preparing NIL and scholarship papers. Additionally, this position will have sport oversight responsibilities, along with assisting the Athletic Department with internal matters and other duties as assigned.
Duties include:
  • Analyze systems and procedures both internally and externally: Analyze athletics compliance and administrative processes to identify operational efficiencies, evaluate regulatory compliance risks, and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls. Monitor implementation of approved process changes and assess effectiveness of compliance and administrative systems.
  • Implementation of new administrative policies: - Evaluate athletic department policies, procedures, and operational practices to ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, institutional, and legal requirements. - Develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies and internal controls that support departmental goals and reduce institutional risk. - Analyze operational processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. - Assist with departmental strategic initiatives, audits, assessments, and special projects.
  • Monitor NCAA, institutional and conference compliance for sports and administration: - Monitor and evaluate institutional compliance with NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations. - Interpret NCAA legislation and conference bylaws for coaches, staff, student athletes, boosters, and external constituents. - Conduct compliance reviews of recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, amateurism, awards and benefits, playing and practice seasons, camps and clinics, and other athletics operations. - Investigate potential violations and assist with preparation of required reports, corrective actions, and self-reporting documentation. - Coordinate and maintain required NCAA, conference, and institutional documentation, records, and reports. - Administer and maintain compliance software systems to ensure accurate tracking, monitoring, and reporting of compliance activities. - Develop and deliver compliance education and training programs for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and campus constituents. - Serve as a liaison with conference offices, NCAA representatives, and campus departments regarding compliance matters.
  • Sport Administrator responsibilities for Men & Women's Golf and Tennis teams: - Support coaches and staff in operational planning, policy interpretation, scheduling, budget administration, and student athlete welfare initiatives. - Act as a departmental liaison for assigned programs and assist in resolving operational and compliance-related issues. - Monitor assigned programs to ensure alignment with departmental, conference, and University expectations.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and four years of related experience in NCAA compliance at a college/university or conference office are required.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.
