Experienced Commercial Service Electrician – Hospital & Healthcare Facilities

Location: Tampa, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Service Electrician to support hospitals, healthcare facilities, and medical offices. This is more than an installation position—we're looking for a skilled problem solver who can diagnose complex electrical issues, perform safe and efficient repairs, and keep critical healthcare systems operating with minimal disruption.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical systems.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and perform service repairs in occupied healthcare facilities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and electrical specifications.
  • Install and terminate conduit, wire, cable, lighting, panels, transformers, disconnects, and switchgear.
  • Troubleshoot branch circuits, feeders, motor controls, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Install, test, and maintain high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency electrical repairs.
  • Install and troubleshoot emergency power systems, generators, ATS, and lighting control systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers, facility personnel, and other trades.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and all applicable safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience.
  • Strong commercial service and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience bending EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit.
  • Experience terminating panels, switchgear, transformers, disconnects, and motor controls.
  • Experience with both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Journeyman Electrician license preferred.

Preferred Healthcare Experience

Experience working in:

  • Hospitals
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Medical offices
  • Other mission-critical or occupied environments

Knowledge of ICRA, ILSM, infection control procedures, HIPAA awareness, Joint Commission standards, Lockout/Tagout, and emergency power systems is highly preferred.

Low-Voltage Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:
