Job description

Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Schedule: Sundays, 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour


Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and customer-service-oriented Security Guard to provide security and safety monitoring at a condominium community. The employer for this position is a Condominium Corporation that is managed by Apollo CI Condominium Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence throughout the building and exterior parking areas, monitoring activity, and responding appropriately to resident concerns and security-related incidents.

The position requires an individual who is attentive, dependable, and comfortable working independently while interacting professionally with residents, visitors, delivery personnel, and building staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the condominium building, common areas, entrances, and exterior parking areas.
  • Monitor the exterior parking garage and surrounding property for suspicious or unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
  • Monitor building access and report any unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to resident, visitor, and building security concerns in a professional manner.
  • Document incidents, observations, and security concerns in the appropriate security report.
  • Monitor and report issues involving unauthorized parking, loitering, property damage, vandalism, or other rule violations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns to management.
  • Assist with emergency situations and contact emergency services when required.
  • Monitor CCTV.
  • Follow all condominium security procedures and instructions provided by Property Management and the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with residents and sensitive building matters.
  • Provide coverage for other security shifts, including weekday evening and Saturday shifts, when available.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence required and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Previous security experience, particularly in a residential or condominium environment, is considered an asset.
  • Strong observation and communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to incidents or resident concerns.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to complete written incident reports and maintain accurate security logs.
  • Ability to walk and conduct regular patrols of the building and exterior parking areas.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.


Remuneration

You will receive a salary of $20.00 per hour, paid every two weeks. Vacation pay will be paid on each pay period. An annual performance review will be conducted every 12 months to evaluate performance and objectives. Any salary increase will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors and will be considered on the employee's anniversary date.
