Job description

Pittman Construction Company is currently seeking candidates for the role of a Concrete Finisher. This is not a remote or part-time position. The general function of this role is to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete to specified quality and textures through the use of hand or power tools. This job requires you to work outside in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Level and smooth edges and finishing surfaces of concrete structures
  • Repair rough or defective areas within concrete surfaces
  • Compacting materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases
  • Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
  • Monitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and debris
  • Load and upload construction materials and equipment
  • Operate various hand and power tools
  • Mix and spread concrete and other construction materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of construction or outdoor field experience preferred
  • Basic math skills and attention to details
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid drivers license and second form of ID
  • Clean driving record
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Ability to carry 50lbs
  • Able to safely walk uneven terrain
  • Professional Attitude and Conduct
  • High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline
  • Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by Pittman Construction Safety Policies and Procedures and OSHA
  • Be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment
  • Random and Suspicion Drug tests are performed
