Job description

Mainframe Solutions is recruiting a Concrete Paving Superintendent for a well-established civil contractor performing municipal paving and public infrastructure projects throughout Houston and surrounding communities.
We are seeking a proven field leader who comes with an established and reliable crew of six and can mobilize quickly onto active projects. This role is ideal for a Superintendent with experience delivering concrete paving, intersection reconstruction, ADA improvements, and municipal public works projects who is ready to step into a strong backlog of work.
The contractor has a consistent pipeline of city and county projects, a solid reputation in the market, and is looking for a Superintendent who can lead a trusted team and deliver quality results from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage an established crew of six across active concrete paving and municipal construction projects.
  • Direct daily field operations, scheduling, manpower allocation, and production activities.
  • Deliver concrete flatwork, intersection reconstruction, curb and gutter, and ADA improvements in compliance with municipal specifications.
  • Maintain accountability for production goals, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations, traffic control requirements, and all company safety standards.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for city inspectors, engineers, project managers, and municipal stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress daily and proactively address jobsite challenges before they impact project timelines.
  • Coordinate equipment, material deliveries, and subcontractor activities to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection documentation, and project records.
What We're Looking For
  • Concrete Paving Superintendent with an established and dependable six-person crew ready to mobilize.
  • Minimum 5 years of Superintendent-level experience in concrete paving, heavy civil, or municipal construction.
  • Demonstrated success leading crews on city, county, or public works paving projects.
  • Experience working with City of Houston, Harris County, or comparable municipal contract requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete paving, flatwork, intersection construction, curb and gutter, and ADA compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, construction drawings, grading plans, and project specifications.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with City of Houston specifications, permitting processes, and municipal inspections.
  • Knowledge of TxDOT and Harris County standards and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with CIP concrete, pavement rehabilitation, and high-production paving operations.
  • Proven ability to manage MOT plans and maintain safety in active traffic environments.
