Job description

JOB LOCATION: Raleigh/Morrisville, NC areas

PAY: $18 - $24.50/hr.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 3

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
With minimal direct supervision, will operate a concrete mixer truck on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Suitable candidates are required to have valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license and good driving record.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver
1.) Climb on, over and around a company vehicle in order to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as well as to secure loads.
2.) Climb up and down concrete mixer trucks using ladder, doing repetitive motion to inspect concrete mix consistencies and perform Quality Control checks.
3.) Lift truck hoods, product or equipment and tools necessary to perform inspection, repair, loading and unloading of trucks.
4.) Support and assist shop personnel with any required repairs.
5.) Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, climb up and down truck washing facilities.
6.) Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful and courteous manner at all times.
7.) Keep vehicle, cab interior and exterior clean and mixer drums free from concrete buildup, stones, debris and loose objects.
8.) Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
9.) Maintain contact with appropriate managers by radio or GPS to inform them of delays, problems, or unusual situations.
10.) Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customer's including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
11.) Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance when reporting to work and throughout the day.
12.) Maintain and keep any operator logs and or other documentation required by regulations or the company.
13.) All necessary work must be performed while complying with all company policies and procedures.
14.) Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one to two year experience in driving a commercial vehicle is preferred.
  • Current medical examination certificate with card.

Other:

  • Must have a good work ethic, be dependable, on-time and have a regular and predictable attendance.
  • Job requires various hours that may include nights and weekends.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime if needed.
  • Dependable transportation.

Heavy Physical Demands:

Heavy physical effort required including climbing, pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). If a position specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required.


Physical Activities:

Position requires the ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
