About the Opportunity
About the Opportunity Are you a skilled and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver looking for a dynamic role in the construction materials industry? SRM Materials Block Division is seeking a reliable and motivated Class A CDL Block Driver to join our Block team. In this pivotal position, you'll ensure the safe and efficient transportation of concrete blocks to customers and plant locations, while also supporting operations in the yard when not making deliveries. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Class A truck, transporting blocks from the plant to customers and various SRM Concrete locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with all DOT regulations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide timely updates on route progress.
  • Securely load and unload blocks, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently to prevent spillage or damage.
  • Adhere to established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism and respect.
  • Operate a loader to load blocks onto trucks and assist with yard operations as needed.

What Sets You Apart
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and current DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum of 2 years' proven experience driving Class A trucks.
  • Clean driving record with no serious violations or accidents in the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transportation.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with plant personnel and customers.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings.
  • A proactive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
