ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for a responsible and skilled Block Plant Supervisor to join our team. In this role you will oversee the daily operations of our block plant, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. We are seeking a leader who is not only adept at managing processes but also at inspiring a team.  

Job Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Block Plant Supervisor at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include: 

  • Safety Leadership: Lead by example with a strong focus on safety and team development.
  • Production Management: Oversee the production of concrete blocks, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of operators and technicians, providing training and support to maximize performance.
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with logistics and sales departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee plant equipment maintenance and repairs to reduce downtime.
  • Technical Repairs: Perform routine mechanical and electrical repairs, along with preventative maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance production efficiency and improve product quality.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or equivalent in related areas
  • 5 years experience in a production supervisory role
  • A working knowledge of all aspects of control circuits
  • Metal fabrication (welding and cutting)
  • A basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls and assemblies
  • Knowledge of mix design and material requirements
  • Basic OSHA requirements

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you should bring: 

  • Educational and Licensing Requirements: High school diploma or higher.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or plant environment. Previous Production Management, Plant Manager and Maintenance Management or equivalent military experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of production processes and equipment maintenance, ability to guide and motivate a team effectively, adjusting to changes in production demands or processes, making informed decisions promptly.

  • Safety First: Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols is a must. 
  • Dynamic Environment: You’ll work in diverse environments, including exposure to varying conditions such as outdoor industrial operations settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Expect frequent walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing as part of your daily routine.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree and/or pulling of controls
  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
