Block Plant Helper

Job Title: Block Plant Helper
Department: Production
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Plant Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Summary

The Block Plant Helper assists with the daily production of concrete blocks and other precast concrete products. This position supports machine operators and production staff by keeping the production area clean, organized, and running efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation of concrete block production equipment and machinery.
  • Load, unload, stack, and move concrete blocks and raw materials.
  • Inspect blocks for visible defects and separate damaged or defective products.
  • Assist machine operators with production tasks and material handling.
  • Keep production areas, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Sweep, shovel, and remove excess concrete, dust, and debris.
  • Assist with pallets, packaging, strapping, and preparing finished products for shipment.
  • Perform basic cleanup and routine maintenance around the plant as directed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate equipment problems, safety concerns, or production issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform other general plant and production duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around concrete dust, noise, machinery, and changing temperatures.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, construction, concrete, or material-handling experience is helpful but not required.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety.
  • Willingness to learn plant equipment and production procedures.
  • Forklift or industrial equipment experience is a plus.
Work Environment

This position works primarily in a concrete block manufacturing plant and may involve exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, moving machinery, and outdoor weather conditions.
