Title: Concessions Workers - Saratoga (18 yrs. +) and William R. Oliver Youth Complex (16 yrs.+)
Reports to: Recreation Supervisor - Sports
Additional Staff Resources Include Recreation Coordinator (League Concerns) and Customer Administration Service Manager (Cash Handling), Pool Management (Substitutes)
Wage $17.00 per hour (Please note: tips cannot be accepted by City Staff)
Primary Function
Is responsible for the concession operations which includes ordering, inventorying, safe handling of food, proper money handling procedures, proper use of computer programs and providing good customer service.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works with Recreation Supervisor - Sports to determine concession menu, paper good needs and suppliers.
2. Monitors petty cash and cash flow at facility and ensures deposit bags are being processed properly.
3. Assists in ensuring proper supervision of participants.
4. Performs preseason set-up of concession areas.
5. Responsible for customer service readiness.
6. Practice and enforce proper procedures for selling and serving alcohol. (Saratoga only)
7. Responsible for on-site public relations. Appropriately handles questions and concerns at the site. Observes, enforces, and explains all facility rules and regulations.
8. Sells concessions and operates cash register. Never leaves the cash drawer open and never leaves area unattended except in an emergency.
9. Inspect area prior to use. Count drawer prior to shift and balance drawer at the end of the day.
10. Prepares concession product for sale.
11. Maintains safe food handling practices and sanitary conditions in the stand.
12. Performs maintenance and general housekeeping of concession stand according to Health Department Standards.
13. Request additional staff as needed.
14. Completes and submits payroll sheet each week. Make sure timesheet is signed.
15. Attends and provides all in-service training, ongoing evaluations, and staff training. Reviews current manual.
16. Ensures implementation of the facility emergency action plans and facility rules.
17. Communicates equipment and supply needs to the Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
18. Ensures that the staff follows proper procedures. Prepares, submits records and reports.
19. Report's maintenance concerns that are of immediate concern to the building staff and assists when needed.
20. Carries out additional duties as may be assigned by supervisory staff members.

Position Qualifications
1. Saratoga: Must be at least 18 years of age or older. WRO: must be at least 16 years of age.
2. Must hold current certification: American Red Cross CPR and ServSafe alcohol or willing to attain. Food Manager Certification preferred.
3. Must have knowledge of concession stand operations, cash handling and safe food handling procedures.
4. Prefer college or university graduate with training in business, marketing, food service or related area.
